UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: Helpage India observed International Day of Old Persons today at Jagriti old age home Udhampur. The day is celebrated annually on October 1 to recognize the contributions of older persons and to examine issues that affect their lives. On this day Helpage India started a Physiotherapy centre in association with Jagriti Old Age Home Udhampur.
The centre was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Pandu Rang K Pole. Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the joint efforts of the organizations.
Ashkoor Ahmad Wani SSP Udhampur was guest of honor. Sunita Santoshi Manager Helpage India added that the physical therapy being a costly treatment and not in reach of the poor class remains a need of the people. By operating this centre the beneficiaries around the locality can avail this treatment.
A cultural programme was also presented by the students of KV No 1 Udhampur.
Dr.R.C Nagar President Jagriti Udhampur while presenting a vote of thanks, thanked Helpage India for fulfilling their demand.
