Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program inaugurated at SMVDU

KATRA, Oct 7: Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program (ESDP) on ‘Business Development’ being organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, in collaboration with MSME Development Institute, Jammu, was inaugurated at SMVDU.
During the inauguration session, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, encouraged the participants to avail the benefit provided by Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Technology Business Incubation Center, SMVDU, and asked to focus on innovation and the proper utilization of resources, while starting up a business. Prof Jain put light on the issue ‘whether entrepreneurs are born or can be trained’ and also called for imbibing and inculcating novel techno-management skills for better learning and education.
Giving a brief description about the program and MSME Development Institute, Virinder Sharma, Director, MSMEDI, Jammu, energised the participants to exploit the opportunities and enhance their abilities in business development.
Prof. G M Bhatt, University of Kashmir, present as special guest and resource person for initial sessions of the ESDP, focussed on enhancing the entrepreneurial skills and improving the technology which can further results in up-gradation of India’s rank in number of patents filed till date.
Prof V Verma, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof V K Bhat, Dean, Faculty of Management, mentioned that such kind of programmes under the umbrella of EDC will definitely help in generating more employment providers than seekers.
Earlier, Dr Supran K Sharma, Chief Coordinator EDC, SMVDU, briefed the participants about the duration and the requirements of the program. The session witnessed a response full of zeal and enthusiasm from the participants. A total of 30 participants from different streams of B.Tech., MBA , Economics, etc. have registered for the program who will be covering 60 sessions including lecture sessions, hands-on trainings and industrial visits, etc by different resource persons from academia, industry stalwarts as well as area experts.
