War cry

Sir,
Ego is the root cause of most of the problems we are facing today. Blinded by ego, we don’t see reason or logic and do things to harm other people.
The current scenario between India and Pakistan is also a result of this rash ego. We are fighting over things which happened long time ago or were mistakes of a few imprudent individuals.
People have held grudges against each other since so long, that they don’t even know how to behave otherwise. They have held on to their beliefs for such a long time, that it’s quite apparently only a matter of ego now. How can they bow down now? Wouldn’t that be unfair to their predecessors? Won’t that make them look weak?
They don’t realize that the times have changed, there are different ways to solve a problem and above all, people are educated now. How can educated people blindly follow rules set by people who were less educated or were completely illiterate?
Innocent people and army men are dying for this relentless cause which has no conclusion. If war is the only solution, in which even more innocent lives will be lost, then whatever the result might be or whoever wins, it is not worth it.
People at the top (the ruling class) make bad decisions and whenever something bad happens, it’s not the ruling class that suffers, it’s the common people like us who have to deal with the consequences. And yet instead of using our own brains, we lap up whatever is served to us and go into a fit of rage indiscreetly. Are we, the today’s generation, so naive that we can’t decide what’s right and what’s wrong on our own? Aren’t we peace loving people who just want to live in harmony? Do we actually want to fight? Do we really want war? Do we like to see people getting hurt? Isn’t there any other way? Can’t we think logically? Don’t we have some other really important issues to focus on?
And the main question is; do we really want to live a life filled with negativity and fear?
Yours etc….
