Pak violates ceasefire, jawan hurt

JAMMU, Oct 8:
Pakistani troops today violated the ceasefire by firing on a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, leaving an Army jawan injured.
“There was firing on forward area in Krishna Ghati-Mendhar sector along the LoC by Pakistani troops in which an Army man was injured this morning”, DIG Police (Rajouri-Poonch range) Johnny Williams said.
However, Defence PRO Col Manish Mehta said there was no ceasefire violation.
The ceasefire violation took place after two days of lull.
A senior Army officer had said yesterday that there have been over 25 ceasefire violations along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir after surgical strikes by Indian Army in PoK to dismantle terror launching pads.
Meanwhile, there was no let up in migration for forward villages of Nowshera sector in Rajouri district as people continue to shift to safer areas from close to the LoC in view of intense shelling by Pakistan army three days back. During past three days, there has been no shelling or firing in Nowshera sector. (PTI)
