JAMMU, Oct 9:  Former minister and senior NC leader Ajay Sadhotra has said that a sense of deceit has emerged in the minds and hearts of the people living adjoining International Border  (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) due to the acts of BJP-PDP Govt.
Ajay Sadhotra, while addressing a meeting of National Conference workers at Marh in which number of youth from BJP joined NC,  Sadotra said that the civilians living adjoining border are our second line of defence after Army. It becomes imperative for Government to encourage and support them. It is unfortunate that PDP-BJP Government in the State and NDA Government at the Centre have created trust deficit among border dwellers and till date Government has not provided any land out of firing range where they could shift in case of border tension.
National Conference leader said that the then National Conference Government headed by Omar Abdullah had recommended to the Government of India to allot 5 marla of land to each family living along border so that they could shift there along with their families in case of any sort of eventuality. At present, due to escalation on border, the border people are feeling insecure and helpless.
Sadhotra demanded that people living adjoining International Border (IB) and LoC be allotted land out of firing range. He further demanded that border people shall also be given soft loans for construction of their houses on the allotted land. Sadhotra also demanded that the border dwellers were also promised to construct 20 community bunkers in the villages along the border  but it is unfortunate that these bunkers have not been made. He said community   bunkers be provided to the border people so that they could save their lives during shelling from across the border.
He also welcomed the new entrants in the party.
Swaran Singh,  Pt Jagdish Raj, Subedar Ghasita Ram, Ex-Sarpanchs Charan Dss Bhagat, Piar Singh, Ch Keemat Lal and Narinder Singh also spoke on the occasion.
