UDHAMPUR, Oct 9: A newly married house wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from ceiling fan hook at the house of her in-laws at village Jofear in Udhampur district.
The deceased, identified as Rakha Devi (20), wife of Dara Singh of Jofear , was found hanging from ceiling fan hook under mysterious circumstances. Family member saw her hanging and immediately called the Police, which rushed to the spot.
Police took the body in their custody and later shifted it to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar for postmortem and other legal formalities.
Cause behind the suicide could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection under Section 174 CrPC for further investigation.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when a motorcycle hit a pedestrian near Tikri.
The motorcycle bearing registration number JK02X-9750, hit the pedestrian who was walking on the roadside. Pedestrian Ram Lal (42), son of Nek Ram of Tikri and motorcyclist Raj Kumar (20) son of Ram Saran of Panthal. Rehambal, were injured in the accident and were shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for the treatment.
