The coalition Government in the State is determined to create new tourist distinations in the State. As a fact of matter Jammu region has a great tourist potential. Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Bani Basohli and Mantalai are the places of great tourist attraction if developed.
In order to beautify Jammu city, Tawi lake project was taken in hand by the Govt some years back but due to some unknown reasons the project has been thrown in the background despite repeated assurance by the BJP that the lake will be completed soon.
One fails to understand why BJP and other Jammu politicians are silent about the deliberate delay of the project. The said project (Tawi lake) if completed has the potential to attract lakhs of Vaishno Devi pilgrims throughout the year other than the local population.
Any further delay is unjustified and it may invite anger and agitation from the peace loving people of Jammu.
