Preserving environment for future generations our collective responsibility: Kohli

RAJOURI, Oct 15: Minister for Animal Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Forest Department at PWD Dak Bungalow here.
While reviewing the progress regarding implementation of the various schemes, Kohli stressed for taking various innovative steps for effective implementation of these schemes so as to increase the green cover and protection of the forest wealth.
Underscoring the importance of preservation of forest cover, the minister asked the concerned officers to ensure strict enforcement of forest laws.
The minister also asserted that development should not be at the cost of degradation of the environment and it is our collective responsibility to preserve clean and green environment for our future generations.
The minister while interacting with the forest officers asked them to formulate innovative mechanisms to counter the various challenges for the protection and conservation of forests and wildlife.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabbir Ahmed Batt ,Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri A.S.Chib, Aditional Deputy Commissioner Mumtaz Choudhary, Deputy Director Forest protection Force , Naveed Iqbal beside all other forest officers were present in the meeting.
