JAMMU, Oct 16: Two students today drowned in a stream in the Jhajjar Kotli area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased students have been identified as Stanzin Ishey (26) son of Tsering Tundup and Tundup Namgyal (20) son of Tsering Samfal, both residents of Wakha (Kargil) and students of University of Jammu.
“The duo had gone on an excursion at Jhajjar Kotli along with other students (hailing from Kargil), who are presently studying in Jammu. Duo drowned in the deep water of the stream while taking a bath”, the spokesman said, adding, dead bodies were retrieved and after conducting postmortem at Government Hospital Dansal, they were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites.
He said in this connection, a case under 174 CrPC has been registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli and investigations started.
