BHALESSA, Oct 16: Alleg-ing that the State Government has failed to provide basic amenities to the people, former minister and senior Congress leader Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said it was unfortunate that people were being subjected to load shedding of electricity for long hours.
Addressing the people at Kahara, Bathri, Bhatyas, Amritpura Bhalessa areas today,  Saroori said the Government has failed to provide basic amenities to the people. He slammed Govt for betraying again the people of Chenab Valley for not allotting the RGGVY Phase II project and said it seems the administration has virtually decided to keep the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially Chenab valley into darkness.
Saroori said that some rural areas of sub-division Thathri and Gandoh were receiving erratic power supply  and for the most of the time were facing numerous problems on account of low voltage thus forcing them to arrange alternative sources of illumination during the evening hours.
He urged the administration to allot tenders of RGGVY phase II work to some contractors or start the work departmentally so that people of the area may get regular power supply. He further said the administration needs to ensure a better coordination between different departments especially those providing essential services.
Saroori also expressed his grave concern over mounting problems of the common masses and said that due to its mis-governance, the incumbent regime has lost its credibility. He took the Coalition Government to task for its failure to provide even ration to the people in the rural areas what to say of unconnected and remote belts.
He also blamed the PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir for the unrest in the State and said the statements of Mehbooba Mufti have only “exacerbated” the crisis.
He said Congress party is deeply concerned over the situation in Kashmir, which according to him is “sliding into total chaos”.
