SRINAGAR, Oct 17: Chief Secretary B R Sharma today reviewed the Annual Darbar Move arrangements in a meeting with officers.
Financial Commissioner, Planning and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, BB Vyas and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The offices observing 5 day week will close on October 27 and offices observing 6 day week will close at Srinagar on October 29. All the offices will open in Jammu on November 7.
It was informed in the meeting that adequate number of trucks and buses have been kept ready for ferrying official records and employees on October 28, 29 and 30 and November 5 and 6. Only one way traffic from Srinagar towards Jammu will be allowed during these five days.
Chief Secretary instructed putting in place all necessary measures including security escort to ensure smooth movement of darbar move vehicles upto their respective destinations. He instructed that extra buses and trucks be kept available during the move days besides adequate number of cranes, mobile workshops, recovery vans, medical mobile teams, ambulances be deployed en-route along with necessary equipment and staff to meet any exigency.
Chief Secretary also instructed BEACON and NHAI authorities to ensure good condition of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, especially at vulnerable spots during the move days.
Chief Secretary asked Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to issue temporary ration cards and gas connections to move employees for their Jammu stay and to ensure timely supply of rations besides, directing the concerned departments to ensure complete sanitation, availability of electricity and potable drinking water in all residential colonies of the move employees.
He also asked concerned officers of the Estates Department and Jammu Municipal Corporation to inspect residential colonies and ensure that necessary facilities were in place including cleaning up water storage tanks and launching an intensive sanitation drives.
Estates Department was also asked to establish a control room/grievance cell with a toll free number to attend to and address various day to day issues in residential quarters.
Chief Secretary also directed the IT Department to ensure that LAN/Internet connections in Jammu Secretariat are fully functional by the time move offices reopen there. He also directed for adequate deployment of security in all residential colonies both in Srinagar and Jammu.
