Thief arrested with stolen cash, two mobile phones

JAMMU, Oct 17: Chinore police arrested a thief and recovered Rs 1,38,500 stolen cash and two mobile phones within 8 hours.
As per police spokesman, a complaint was lodged at police post Chinore by Gagan Sethi, son of Bhupinder Sethi of Pacca Danga stating that yesterday his family function was going on in a banquet at Keran Bantalab and today he found that their two mobiles phones and Rs1,38,500 cash have been stolen.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 327/16 under Section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at police station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a suspect was picked-up and while interrogation, he confessed to commit the theft.
The accused has been identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Swami Raj, a resident of District Doda, presently residing in Bantalab. On his disclosure, the stolen mobile phones and Rs 1,38,500 were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Chinore police post SI Vikram Singh Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of Incharge SHO Domana police station Inspector Ravi Kant, SDPO Domana, Surinder Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
