Srinagar, Oct 18: National Conference today lashed out at Education Minister, Naeem Akhtar for arrogantly asking the students to be prepared  for exams on time.
In a joint statement, National Conference Provincial Youth President Salman Ali Sagar and Additional Spokesperson (Kashmir Province) Sarah Hayat Shah said the announcement has come despite all educational institutions in the valley being shut for more than three months now. “It’s unfortunate that the Education Minister hasn’t said a word about thousands blinded, injured and countless arrested, most of them being students,” they added.
“The Government should arrange tuitions for students so that a significant part of the syllabus is completed and they are also well prepared for their entrance examinations in the future”, said the joint statement.
The Education Minister is showing an unreasonable desire for revenge by scapegoating students of the valley. Why should students bare the brunt of Naeem Akhtar’s frustration? Government should postpone the exams scheduled in November in wake of the prevailing situation in the Valley”, the NC leaders added.
