JAMMU, Oct 18: RS Pura police foiled a murder plot with the arrest of a hardcore criminal along with a sharp edged weapon ‘khokri’ from Sunderpur Morh area.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from RS Pura police station raised a naka near Sunderpur Morh and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered a sharp edged weapon ‘khokhri’ from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Rahul Kumar, son of Darshan Lal, a resident of Chak Mohammad Yar.
Through preliminary investigation it came to fore that the accused was on its way to eliminate his rival. To dodge the police he tried to cross the police checking on foot, but his nefarious designs were foiled by the active cops of RS Pura police station.
During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the accused was involved in more cases registered under FIR Number 38/14 under Section 341 and 323 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act, FIR Number 105/15 under Section 458, 354, 323, 509 and 336 RPC, FIR Number 57/15 under Section 341, 323 and 325 RPC and FIR Number 27/16 under Section 307, 341, 323, 147 and 149 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act. He was also wanted since long in these cases.
A fresh case under FIR Number 157/16 under Section 4/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused at police station RS Pura and further investigation into the case is going.
Police team led by SHO RS Pura Inspector Bhushan Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
