JAMMU, Oct 18: A solo-show of Sat Paul Deol’s creative paintings opened at Jahangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, today.
The well long show of the son of the soil and award winning visual artist, which figures 68 works, is in continuation of tradition amongst Jammu artists’ to test the mettle of their works in terms of critical response from critics as well as the informed spectators in the commercial capital of the country.
A graduate in painting from IMFA, University of Jammu, Sat Pal Deol a winner of State Award by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS) Award, has to credit many one-person and group shows in the state and outside. He has also been invited to number of artist camps and workshops.  One whose works adorn public and private buildings, and figure in private collections, Sat Paul Deol forte is his individual works which labeled as lyrical abstraction.
Talking to Excelsior, Deol said that my paintings emanate from subtle response to everyday experiences, events, incidents, or the memories thereof which are stored in our being as a whole. As a painter, my works reveal my journey in seeing through the phenomenon, grasping it and then creating and evolving works without any direct reference in the tangible world outside—but the intangible flotsam of subtle emotions and feelings.
