Govt must keep petrol, diesel prices under check: Chopra

JAMMU, Oct 18:  Chairman of the Mini Bus Workers Union and District Congress Committee Jammu (U) president, Anil Chopra has said that Government of India must keep check on the increase in the price of  petrol and diesel as the transporters are badly affected with the continuous instability.
Addressing  members of Mini Bus Workers Union  here today, Chopra discussed the burning issues of the operators and transporters. He expressed serious concern over the instability in the prices of diesel  and petrol  and criticized the Central Government and the Oil Companies for this instability. He said when the prices of crude oil in the world market is low then why there is un-proportional hike in the prices of  petroleum products.
Chopra urged upon the Govt to keep check on the prices of petroleum products otherwise transporters will be compelled to hike the fare  and ultimately general public will suffer.
He also alleged that PDP-BJP is responsible for the present  turmoil in Kashmir valley and due to this transporters are badly suffering. He demanded that financial package for the transporters of Kashmir as well as Jammu be released at the earliest.
