Srinagar, Oct 19: Shrine of Lalbab Sahab and a nearby mosque was gutted in a major inferno last night at Arampora locality of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Locals said fire appeared from the shrine and then spread to two-storey mosque, causing damage to both structures. As the news of fire incident spread in the area, hundreds of people gathered at the site and started dousing the flames following which the fire-fighters along with fire-tenders rushed to the spot.
Police said the cause of the fire is not known yet and a case has been registered into the incident. “The investigation has been started into the inferno,” it said.
