JAMMU, Oct 19: With 10 more people testing positive for Dengue virus, the total number of patients affected with this vector-borne disease in Jammu region has reached to 59.
According Dr Gurjeet Singh, Director, Health Services Jammu, a total of 10 fresh cases of Dengue were reported in last two days. “However, none among the infected patients was found to be critical”, he said.
He said that till date about 474 suspected cases have been tested for Dengue in Jammu region out of which 59 have been tested positive for dengue virus. “Out of these 59 dengue affected people, 44 are males and 15 are females”, he said, adding, most of these had been successfully treated and now they are living a healthy life.
Dr Singh advised the people not to store water in open utensils and allow stagnation of water in their surroundings, as stagnant water is a breeding ground for Dengue mosquitoes. He also advised the people to prevent themselves from mosquito bites.
