JDA intensifies anti-encroachment drive, starts fencing of land

JAMMU, Oct 20: Jammu Development Authority has intensified anti-encroachment drive and started fencing of lands belonging to JDA in different locations. Besides, as per decision taken in a high level meeting, the Revenue Department has already started the process of demarcation of said land and handing over the same to JDA and these lands have also been fenced by JDA.
Recently a meeting of Senior Officers of Revenue, Police and other Department was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh wherein it was decided that the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu and District Samba shall demarcate the State lands within the jurisdiction of JDA and the same would be handed over to JDA within month’s time.
Accordingly the team of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu has handed over approximately 500 kanals of land falling in Khasra No. 60, 61, & 62 at village Deeli to Jammu Development Authority. The exercise for the demarcation of land has taken up by a team of officers/officials constituted by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Simrandeep Singh, and the Revenue officers headed by Sub Division Magistrate South has handed over the land to Director Land Management of JDA in the said village and the JDA has covered this entire chunk of land with barbed wire fencing.
The Vice Chairman, JDA informed that the similar process has also been initiated in other villages like Sidhra, Nagrota and Kot Bhalwal with Revenue Department and handing over of the land in these villages is also expected shortly and such lands will also be used for allotment of residential plots and to various department for establishing their offices.
