RAJOURI, Oct 20: Police today recovered about 40 rusted grenades and some ammunition after an old bag was dug out by a JCB, which was engaged in construction work at Fatehpur Gurian, about five kilometers from here, this morning.
Reports said the JCB driver spotted the bag carrying explosive devices and informed police. Joint teams of police and SOG led by DySP Operations Iftikhar Qureshi reached the spot and seized the bag.
Police teams found about 40 grenades and some rounds of AK from the old bag. The grenades and ammunition were rusted.
The explosive devices seem to have been hidden by the militants when the militancy was at its peak but failed to take it later. The bag came out when the JCB was digging road for construction work.
