MENDHAR, Oct 22: A driver was killed after he was ran over by his own vehicle in Mendhar area of district Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that 23-year-old Wasim Akram, son of Mohd Khalil, resident of Sangiot was killed after his own Tipper No. JK-12/6170 ran over him when he was trying to repair some wires under the vehicle. His vehicle went out of order when he was proceeding towards Surankote from Mendhar. Near Police Post Ari, he parked his vehicle and laid down under the vehicle at front portion to detect the snag. He tried to connect some wires. The vehicles got started and moved ahead. The driver was crushed under the front wheel. He was rushed to SDH Mendhar and then referred to DH Rajouri but he died on the way.
