JAMMU, Oct 22: Continuing their protest seeking postponement of the scheduled semester examinations, students of GGM Science College Jammu held demonstration for the 4th consecutive day on Saturday.
The protest was organized under the banner of GGM Science College Students Union, led by Vikram Singh Chib, who accused the Jammu University of playing with the academics of students. “In a semester, there should be  minimum 6 months period of class work and  exams but in the present case,  there is only 30-35 days of class work before the exams and this is totally against the semester system,” he said  and added that there is mandatory class work of minimum 4 months  so that students can prepare their syllabi.
Vikram claimed that due to only one month of class work, teachers were not able to finish   the syllabus, which has been left and hence students were suffering a lot.
Vikram demanded that there must be minimum 4 months of class work and therefore the exam datesheet of undergraduate courses should be extended so that the teachers and students may get time to complete the syllabus. “If the demand is not conceded, students will continue their protest against the university,” he warned.
Others,  who spoke on the occasion, included Clinton, Sagar, Vivek, Vikas, Ratesh, Shubham, Pranav, Kirth, Jamwal, Laksh, Mathur, Anirudh, Lalit, Shrone, Abhi, Opinder, Jugal Kishore, Avinash, Vishav, Robin, Akash, Nishant, Amit, Sahil, Rahul, Kuldeep, Rajesh and  Manish.
