JAMMU, Oct 24: The 133rd birth anniversary of Sher Duggar and founder of Praja Parishad Movement in the State to fight against permit system prevailent in the State at that time was celeberated with great enthusiasm and charm by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) throughout Jammu region today.
On the occasion, the State BJP led by State President & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A) organized a colorful pogramme under his statue at Dogra Chowk. It commenced with performing of havan, followed by garlanding of the statue and felicitation of outstanding sportspersons of Jammu at the venue.
While paying tributes to this great son of India and a visionary leader, Sat Sharma said that Pt. Premnath Dogra was an institution in himself, who, with his vision and able leadership successfully led the historic “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” agitation of 1953. “Although we lost tallest leader Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee while agitating against permit system but succeeded in getting it abolished”, he added.
Similarly, the Jammu Province lost 16 patriotic citizens who laid down their lives for the honour of Tiranga in Hiranagar, Ramban, Jourian and Sunderbani, he said.  The consistent agitation resulted into the abolition of the provision of separate post of Prime Minister but still separate flag and Constitution do exist and the party is committed to fulfill the dream of Pandit Ji, he added.
State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, while speaking on the life of Panditji, said that the personality, dedication towards the national cause and zero compromise on basic principles earned the distinction for him being called Sher-e-Duggar. He said that besides a visionary leader, Dogra Ji was also an outstanding sportsman and excelled in football while in play ground. He said that Panditji  had nourished Praja Parishad and later Bharatiya Jana Sangh in the State which has finally resulted into BJP becoming a strong political party and now sharing power in the Government.
MLC Ashok Khajuria said that present situation in the State needs the leaders like Pt. Premnath Dogra who always stood like a rock against the forces which were working to weaken the State’s relations with the Union of India.
MoS Education Priya Sethi said that the contribution of Panditji has been splendid in leading the agitation which set examples to be followed by generations to come.
Senior leader Adv. Chander Mohan Sharma said that although Panditji had different view on some important issues still the non Jan Sangh parties had very high regards for him which itself speak that he was a matchless leader.
MLA Rajesh Gupta said that the mission of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra is still incomplete and each one of us is committed to devote time and energy to achieve the same.
MLC Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Parmod Kapahi, Yudhvir Sethi, Rajni Sethi, Pawan Khajuria, Bansi Lal Bharti, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Sakina Bano, N.D. Rajwal, Suresh Jamwal, Sanjay Baru, Anuradha Charak, Aseem Gupta, MLA Dalip Parihar, Praduman Singh, Jugal Gupta, Munish Sharma, Purnima Sharma and others also paid tributes to this great leader. Various programmes were held at Rajouri in connection with 133th birth anniversary of Pt Prem Nath Dogra. The sports events were also organised on the occasion.
The first programme was organized at Dangri where a Volleyball match among the local sports teams was organized. On this occasion BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta joined a large number of local youth of Dangri and paid floral tributes to this visionary leader of the State before the match started.
In another programme, a Kabadhi match was organized at Rajouri Rural Mandal in which BJP district President, Dinesh Sharma was also present and speakers paid rich tributes to Pandit Ji on the occasion.
BJP Urban Mandal in Rajouri also organised a programme in which former
Chairman Rajouri Municipality ,Rajinder Gupta was also present. Besides paying floral tributes to Pandit Ji a friendly match was also held on the occasion.
The birth anniversary of Prem Nath Dogra was also observed at Kathua and the Party district president, Prem Nath Dogra and other leaders paid rich tributes to the veteran leader of the country. A football match was organised by the Party also.
A programme was also held at Bhaderwah by Ramneek Singh Manhas today in connection with celebration of birth anniversary of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra. The speakers highlighted his contribution for total integration of J&K with India and keeping the State together. They said that otherwise the J&K would have become a separate State as contemplated by former Chief Minister Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.
Meanwhile, MLA Ramban Neelam Kumar Langeh announced 2 lakh rupees for development of Gai ground and give assurance that a yatri shed near Chandi Temple will be constructed soon.
Later, in the memory of Pt Prem Nath Dogra a sports event was also inaugurated by Langeh along with senior citizens, Sanjeev Chandel and staff of Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban.
BJP MLC Surinder Ambardar  today said that conditions are not conducive in Kashmir for KP employees  to join back  who had gone back to Valley for employment and had to flee to Jammu due to lack of security after the Kashmir unrest started in early July this year
Ambardar was speaking at the sports competition meet being organized by BJP Kashmir displaced district in memory of Pt.prem Nath dogra in various Kashmir Pundit displaced camps and schools. The event was being organized at Govt Higher secondary school (camp) hazuri bagh after inguarting the week long sports competition in jagti camp on Sunday
