Employees’ bodies resolve to frame joint platform

JAMMU, Oct 24:  Various organizations of the employees from Jammu region have framed a united platform for their common cause of  implementation of  7th Pay Commission and other issues and also decided to hold a joint massive protest demonstration outside the office of Divisional Commissioner here on November 8.
Talking to media-persons here Mohd  Gafoor Dar said that a meeting in this regard was held recently in which various senior leaders of the Unions/ Associations including Shiv Kumar Sharma from INTUC/ PHE Water Workers Association, Babu Hussain  Malik from  Clerical Cadre Employees Association, Shahid Hussain from Library Employees Association,  Moulvi Nazir Ahmed from  ITI Employees United Front, Rajinder Kumar from JDA Employees Union, Subash Chander, Suresh Kumar, Manohar Lal, K S Sambyal    and several others participated.
Most of the speakers stressed for forging unity  among the employees from Jammu and resolved to come on one platform for the resolution of their issues. They all felt that united platform was the need of the day.  Accordingly,   J&K Govt Employees, Casual Labours, Workers and Pensioners United Forum was framed.   It was also decided that members of all the unions/ associations would hold massive protest rally at Divisional Commissioner’s office here on November 8. The main issue would be implementation of  7th Pay Commission, framing a policy by Govt for the regularization of all type of temporary workers  and release of their pending wages besides provision of  timely release    of their wages besides others.
Dar also condemned the Govt action against senior Trade Union leader Abdul Qayoom Wani and alleged that Govt was trying to harass the Trade Union leaders unnecessarily. He said that J&K Trade Union front strongly condemns action against Wani.
Senior trade unionists,  Kulwant Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Molvi Muneer Ahmed and Ranjit Singh also spoke on the occasion.
