Seminars, debates, rallies, colorful functions mark celebration of Accession Day

JAMMU, Oct 26: Seminars, debates, public rallies marked the celebration of Accession Day across Jammu region today. On this occasion, Department of Policy Research of BJP organised a seminar titled “Accession of J&K to India is Full and Final” at Party Head quarters Trikuta Nagar.
BJP National vice-president Avinash Rai Khanna, State president & MLA Sat Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, Speaker State Assembly Kavinder Gupta, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma,  MLC Ashok Khajuria BJP chief spokesman, Sunil Sethi, spokesman, Prof Virender Gupta participated in the seminar. K B Jandial former Member PSC and Prof K L Bhatia a well known scholar were the other speakers on the occasion.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, in his presidential address, spoke on historical facts related to accession. He also made mention of Shimla Agreement after which all previous treaties/accords stood cancelled and it was resolved to mutually solve the Kashmir issue by the two countries. He reiterated the stand of the Narendra Modi Government to honour the 1994 unanimous resolution of Parliament and said the only issue left behind is to liberate PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan and reunite it with India.
He also held Nehru and Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah responsible for present crisis and said that UN resolutions and plebiscite as demanded by Sheikh and others have become redundant after the agreement of accession was signed and implementing the Indian laws was the internal matter which needs no outside interference.
Dr Singh said holding such seminars and debates is need of hour to counter the false propaganda of those forces who challenge the accession. He also made a dig at those forces who are creating a confusion about Maharaja Hari Singh and said the Dogra ruler has met the most in-justice.
Sat Sharma in his welcome address, laid emphasis on the constitutional aspects of the accession and exhorted upon the audience to negate the misinformation campaign launched by the separatists, their sympathizers, soft- separatists and a handful of Valley- based politicians. He further emphasized that J&K was, is and will always remain an integral part of India.
Avinash Rai Khanna, in his valedictory address, highlighted the role of Maharaja in keeping J&K united. He however, regretted the partial treatment meted out to the different regions of the State by the previous Government of NC and Congress.
Among the panelists, Brigadier Anil Gupta highlighted certain less known facts of accession, including the notorious role played by Anglo-Muslim Alliance formed at behest of the Britishers.
K B Jandial gave a detailed representation on the finality of the accession quoting various references from the Constitution of J&K and that of India. He emphasized that the accession is a settled fact and should be celebrated by the entire State and not by a particular region only.
Prominent educationist Prof. Virender Gupta listed certain “unfinished agenda of accession” namely Article 370, 35A, liberation of PoJK, Citizenship rights to West Pakistan refugees, recapture of territory illegally occupied by China. He narrated the atrocities committed on the hapless people by the tribal raiders. Eminent Law Scholar Prof. (Dr.) K.L. Bhatia examined forcefully the external and internal dimensions of the legality of accession. He criticized that Abdullahs have been giving a different twist to accession for their personal sake ignoring the interests of the people of the State. He also clarified the confusion being created by the vested interests between accession and merger.
Sunil Sethi, in his key note address, laid emphasis on the fact that the accession of J&K is legal, voluntary, Constitutional and non-negotiable. He explained the finer aspects of Instrument of Accession and India Independence Act of 1947. He criticized Nehru for going to UN at behest of Mountbatten where in the issue of “Aggression “was confused with “Accession” . He also appreciated Maharaja Hari Singh for being a great nationalist and referred to him as “first India of J&K”.
All the panelists unanimously appealed the Government for declaring 26th October as State Holiday and also called upon the people to celebrate the day as a festival.
Jugal Kishore Sharma and Ashok Khajuria presented mementoes to the panelists. Kavinder Gupta presented mementoes to the dignitaries. BJP State Additional Treasurer Arun Gupta proposed vote of thanks.
BJP organized a Vilay Diwas rally at Udhampur in which Forest Minister Ch. Lal Singh was the chief guest. About 5000 people activists participated in the rally.
Speaking on the occasion Ch Lal Singh paid rich tributes to Brig Rajinder Singh and his colleagues who laid down their lives and defeated the designs of Pak raiders which paved a way for Accession of J&K with Indian Union in the year 1947. He said the Accession is irrevocable as it was made by then ruler of the State Maharaja Hari Singh which was later ratified by Constituent Assembly of the State which was duly elected by the people. Hence no power on earth can challenge the finality of the Accession of State with Indian Union which has been made through peoples will.
Similar seminar was organised at Rajouri which was addressed by State general secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, Pahari Board vice-chairperson Kuldeep Raj Gupta, MLC Vivodh Gupta and district president Dinesh Sharma.
Kashmir Displaced District organised seminar at Roop Nagar under Chand Ji Bhat with MLC Surinder Ambardar as main speaker. In his address Ambardar termed the Accession of J&K with India full and final which no authority on earth can challenge. Chand Ji Bhat president displaced district made a reference to Parliament resolution of 1992 and said that PoK needs to be liberated from clutches of Pak now.
At Doda, thousands of people assembled at the seminar which was addressed by State vice-president Parmod Kapahi,  State general secretary (Organisation)  Ashok Kaul, MLAs- Shakti Parihar and Dalip Parihar, district president Manjeet Razdan ad local leader Tariq Keen and Gulam Qadir Wani.
Similar Seminars were held in Kashmir, Ram Nagar, Bhaderwah.
To commemorate the Accession Day a debate was organized by Vichar Manch  Ram Nagar in collaboration with BJP on the topic Accession of State is full and final. In his address MLA Ramnagar R S Pathania brought to light various legal, political, social, ethnic and geopolitical aspects of the issue. He said the only thing which is left behind is that the entire State of J&K including Karakoram and Aksiachen comprising 84000 sq miles should be brought under the de-facto and de-jure control of dominion of India.
Accession Day was celebrated by VHP at its Headquarters Shakti Ashram Rehari here where the State president of the organization advocate Leela Karan Sharma hoisted the National Flag. Speaking on the occasion, Leela Karan said the accession of the State with Indian Union is full and final and asked the anti nationals to take it for ever that J&K was, is and will always remain an inseparable part of the country.
Fan Club Brig Rajinder Singh led by Columnist Shiban Khaibri and educationist Shiban K Bhat paid homage to Brig. Rajinder Singh at his native village Bagoona in Samba district as usual.  They also paid floral tributes to great martyr.
Bhagya Laxmi Charitable Trust celebrated Accession Day at Kachi Chawni with great fervor and gaiety. On the occasion Mohan Singh Chouhan and Munish Chouhan senior BJP leaders  said that the Accession of State with Indian Union is unconditional.
ABVP Mahanagar activists also celebrated the Accession Day by taking out bike rally as Vilay Diwas Sandesh Yatra. ABVP Jammu Mahanagar president, Govind Sharma and vice president Bhaskar Jamwal flagged off the rally.
On the eve of Accession Day of Jammu & Kashmir a programme was organised by Jammu East Mandal at Pt.Prem Nath Dogra Rotaty where the chief guest was Deputy Chief Minister, Dr.Nirmal Singh &Jammu East MLA & Party chief whip Rajesh Gupta inaugurates the newly renovated rotary costing Rs 32 lakh. After that a flag hoisting programme was held by Dr.Nirmal Singh &.Rajesh Gupta. Besides flower tributes were paid  to Pt.Prem Nath Dogra.
On the occasion of Accession Day today homage was also paid to Brig Rajinder Singh and his gallant comrades who had saved the State in 1947. Vikramaditya Singh MLC recalled the supreme sacrifices of Brig Rajinder Singh and other soldiers for the future generations. He said Maharaja Hari Singh acceded to India with the help of Brig Rajinder Singh and who with his supreme sacrifice saved the State in 1947.
National Panthers Party (NPP) took out a motor cycle rally on the occasion of Accession Day at Udhampur today. A large number of Party workers participated in the rally. The rally was headed by NPP chairman and former Minister, Harshdev Singh and NPP State president, Balwant Singh Mankotia.
In his address Harsh Dev Singh said that Accession of J&K with India is an emotional event for the people of the State. While repeating history he said on October 26, 1947  Maharaja of the State, had signed the accession of J&K with India which is irrevocable.
Speaking on the occasion Balwant Singh Mankotia disclosed that the celebration of Accession Day was thrown open with the first rally being taken out in Poonch on October 17 followed by Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, Reasi, Samba and Udhampur. He said the celebrations will conclude with final rally at Jammu tomorrow.
Former Minister Yashpaul Kundal and Dhani Ram Attri another NPP leader also spoke on the occasion and highlighted historical facts about Accession of J&K with India.
Panun Kashmir celebrated Accession Day as solidarity Day at a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Vijay Bhat in which the historical facts about J&K Accession with India were given.
