UDHAMUR, Oct 27: A team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) conducted extensive market checking in Udhampur town today imposed a fine of Rs 16,000 on the traders for default.
The team led by Assistant Controller, LMD, Udhampur, Anita Sharma and accompanied by Inspector Manpreet Kour during checking on Court Road, Dhar Road, Gole Market, Saillan Talab, Kallar and MH Road inspected many shops, malls, provision stores besides fruit and vegetable vendors ‘ establishments and realized a fine of Rs 16,000 from the defaulters.
Meanwhile, as a part of Consumer Weeks , the department also organised an awareness programme at Govt School Jakhani here today. The students were made aware about the consumer rights.
