JAMMU, Oct 28: A delegation of Jammu West Assembly Movement led by its president Sunil Dimple met the Inspector General of the Traffic Police Shafkat Ali Watali and apprised him of the traffic problems faced by the people of Jammu city. During meeting the SSP Traffic Jammu Rohit Basotra and SSP rural Dushayant Sharma were also present.
Later, Dimple handed over memorandum of charter of demands to IG Traffic Police for its onwards submission to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
On the occasion, IG Traffic assured that the memorandum would be further submitted to Government for its early implementation.
The demands highlighted in the memorandum pertained to construction of flyovers at Rehari Chungi, Jewel Chowk and other relevant places . It criticised for fixing of target of fines, challans for the vehicles.
It demanded for making Jammu a smart city. He threatened to start the Jan-Andolan from November 10 against the traffic scenario in the Jammu which is worsening and added that the State Government has no traffic mobility plan for the winter capital.
Dimple reiterated his demand for construction of the alternate circular road from Amphalla -Manda to Janipur-Bantalab. He said, similarly circular road from Jewal Chowk to Bhagwati Nagar to Talab-Tillo should be constructed. He also demanded widening of the Canal- Akhnoor road.
Dimple demanded construction of parkings at Panjtharti, Sarwal, Prade and Shalimar areas.
