My cookbook tells my life story: Oprah Winfrey

LOS ANGELES, Oct 29:  Chat show queen Oprah Winfrey’s new cookbook is her version of a memoir told through her discoveries with food.
The TV mogul and actress has been documenting her latest slim down on social media after investing in the Weight Watchers diet programme last year and becoming the new face of the brand, reported People magazine.
She announced plans for her first recipe collection in June, and now she has given fans a sneak peek at the book’s cover, on which Oprah is pictured laughing as she sits at a table filled with fresh fruit and a green juice drink.
“Food, Health and Happiness: 115 On-Point Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life”, to be released on January 3, 2017, also features stories about her lifelong struggle to balance her love of food with her health, and the 62-year-old star said she wanted to share the secrets to her weightloss success to help others seeking similar lifestyle changes.
“As long as I can remember, I’ve been the kind of person who wants to share the things that make life better. When I come upon something useful, something that brings me pleasure or comfort or ease, I want everyone else to know about it and benefit from it, too.
“And that is how this cookbook came to be. It’s my life story – the lessons I’ve learned, the discoveries I’ve made – told through food,” she said.
Oprah recruited some top chefs including her personal cooks Rosie Daley and Art Smith, to contribute their recipes. They offered up dishes like Unfried Chicken and Turkey Chili. (PTI)
