Relief Ministry turning blind eye to KP issues: Ambardar

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 29: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC Surinder Ambardar today said that Ministry of Relief and Rehabilitation is turning a blind eye to displaced Kashmir Pandit issues be it disbursement of timely relief or issuance of ration, there seems to be no efficiency in handling these issues.
BJP leader made these remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a event in Jammu. On being asked about the problems being faced by the displaced Kashmiri Pandits viz-a viz timely disbursement of ration and relief, MLC said that Relief and Rehabilitation Ministry seems to be giving a deaf ear to the woes being faced by the community living in exile from last 27 years and there seems to be no urgency shown by the R&R department on resolving the long pending issues of the community thus leaving them high and dry
MLC said that it is a irony that displaced community has not got the ration from last three months and there is nothing festive for the community to celebrate all due to the callous attitude of the Relief and Rehabilitation Ministry.
He mentioned that this is not the first time that such treatment has been meted out to the displaced community. It was only in June this year that Community was without ration for three months and it was only after his (MLC’s) intervention and Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh’s assurance then that the Relief and Ration was disbursed to the community.
Lawmaker said that he will not let it remain like this and will be taking up the issue with higher ups in his party and if need be will sought the intervention of the Chief Minister.
