Sardar Patel remembered on Rashtriya Ekta Divas

JAMMU, Oct 31: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, various organizations and educational institutions today observed ‘Rashtriya Ekata Diwas’ as a mark of tribute to the efforts of the country’s first Home Minister to unite India.
The day was observed as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ by Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Bantalab, Jammu. Parade and march past was organized on the occasion in Group Centre’s campus in presence of Rajeev Rai, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Group Centre, CRPF, Bantalab and other officers. A message of National Integration was also given on the occasion by organizing a “National Unity Rally” by CRPF Officers/ Jawans and Band Party including school students of KV Bantalab.
Rashtriya Ekta Divas (National Unity Day) was also observed at Group Centre, CRPF, Hiranagar, at Nagrota, Jammu. On the occasion, a dignified march past was done by the Jawans in presence of SLC Khup, DIGP, CRPF, Hiranagar and a pledge administer by SS Gill, Commandant, Group Centre, Hiranagar, was taken by Jawans/Officers. Together with this, Vigilance Awareness Week, to be observed with effect from October 31 to November 5, was also inaugurated.
Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Rajouri in collaboration with Jamola Nehru Youth Club (JNYC) observed birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Pirkanju, Rajouri. Pritam Snehi was chief guest while Molana Shahzad Khan was guest of honor of the programme during which Tariq Mehmood, Pt Rohit Sharma and Akis Naseer (president, JNYC) delivered lectures on life and works of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
A function was also organized in the premises of J&K Ex-services League, Jammu to observe Rashtriya Ekta Divas. A large number of Ex-servicemen assembled in the premises of the League to salute Brig Raijinder Singh, recipient of first Gallantry Award of Independent India, MVC (Posthumous) for saving Kashmir for India which enabled Maharaja Hari Singh to accede this unique State of the Dogras to India to complete the dream of United Bharat of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
In connection with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) today organized ‘pledge taking ceremony’ in which faculty members, non-teaching staff and students took pledge at Temporary Academic Block (TAB) and Main Campus, Bagala of CUJ. Prof Devanand, Dean Students Welfare (DSW), CUJ, reads the pledge while as Prof SK Sharma, Chief Vigilance Officer, CUJ, reads the pledge in connection with “Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week”.
Maharaja Hari Singh Vichar Manch, Jammu in its function held today at Sainik Colony, Jammu paid rich tributes to the Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birthday. The day was observed as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. Prominent among the organizers were Manch chairman, BS Jamwal, Sanjeev Manmotra (vice chairman) and Parkash Singh Jamwal (general secretary).
Rashtriya Ekta Divas was also observed by staff and students of Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur, who took pledge to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the Country. They also resolved to make their contribution to ensure internal security of the Country.
BSF School observed birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabttbhai Patel as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ in the school campus. A floral tribute was paid to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The students pledge to uphold unity and security of the Nation. A declamation contest, talk and a quiz on Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s poems were also organized to help students develop their confidence and speaking skills.
Joining the Nation in expressing its gratitude towards the first Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his birth anniversary, a Unity Oath was administered by Bikram Singh, Chief Engineer (I/C) Sewa-II Power station, to all the employees of NHPC Ltd. Since the Vigilance Awareness Week too is being celebrated from today to November 5 across all Government organizations in India, the Chief Engineer urged all employees to continue to do their jobs with utmost sincerity and integrity.
