JAMMU, Oct 31: A hardware godown reduced to ashes at Janipur Main Stop, late last night.
As per police sources, a fire broke out probably due to crackers in hardware store, owned by Manoj Kumar Gupta, son of Harbans Lal Gupta of Roop Nagar at Janipur Main Stop, late last night.
On getting information, a team from Janipur police station rushed to the spot and informed Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
The fire tenders along with fire fighters reached the spot and started operation to douse the flames. After hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control, but till then the items kept in the store got gutted completely.
However, no injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
Janipur police has taken cognizance in this regard.
