SHIMLA, Nov 5: At least 16 people, including two women, were killed and 29 others injured when a private bus carrying them on board, plunged into Beas River at Bindrabani near Pandoh in Mandi district this afternoon.
The bus, belonging to Kanika Travel was on its way to Mandi from Kullu, lost its control when a bike overtook it and fell down in the river at 1245 hrs, sources said. Fourteen passengers died on the spot, while two succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital.
Twenty nine injured were rushed to Mandi hospital where five patients were reported to be critical, they added. Rescue operations were still on and more detail is awaited. (UNI)
