MLA announces 20% CDF for concrete bunkers

MENDHAR, Nov 6: The callous attitude of State Government and relentless miss adventure along the LoC will not be allowed to affect the pace of development works in Mendhar.
This was stated by Javed Ahmed Rana, MLA Mendhar, while addressing a public meeting at Ghaluta.
While listening to the grievances of local residents and taking stock of the progress of under construction Harni-BG bridge and Harni-BG road, the MLA said concerted efforts are the need of the hour to turn around the development scenario of Mendhar. He urged the locals to get rid of primordial attitudes and get united for development and prosperity.
The work on Harni-BG bridge which is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crore was resumed in 2014 after being stopped in 2007, is around to complete.
MLA informed the locals that Harni-BG road which could not be completed under NABARD has now been recommended for World Bank funding and has been taken over by the JKPCC. In the meantime, to improve its dilapidated condition the PWD (R&B) authorities have been directed for necessary resurfacing, he added.
Rana assured them that he will leave no stone unturned to improve the overall road connectivity in Mendhar, especially interior links.
During meeting, the locals raised several other issues including discrepancies in BPL list, issue of Aadhaar card and asked the MLA to direct the Sub-Divisional administration for redressal to the issues.
Meanwhile, the MLA reminded the district administration for expeditious preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for concrete bunkers and announced 20 per cent of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the purpose to be utilized in convergence with MGNREGA. Rana instructed the DDC Poonch for immediate preparation of DPR.
