Peace imperative for development: Zulfkar

RAJOURI, Nov 6: Minister for  Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said that the atmosphere of peace is imperative  for development of any region.
Reiterating the commitment of the Government for ensuring equitable development of all the regions, the Minister said that public partaking is vital for maintaining peace and strengthening the developmental initiatives.
The Minister was on an extensive tour of rural areas of Darhal and Rajouri constituency where he listened to the people’s problems and launched series of development works.
The Minister kick started the macdamisation work of Choudharynar-Dodaj road in presence of MLA Rajouri Choudhary Qammer Hussain.  Macadamisation work of this road was a long pending demand of the local people as the road connects many remote areas with district headquarter besides acting as an alternate link for tehsil headquarter Darhal.
The Minister visited Payrinar and inaugurated Payrinar to Larkuti road  constructed under NABARD at a cost of Rs  97 lakh. The Minister also held  a public meeting  at Kotranka where  local people briefed him regarding various problems being faced by them and the Minister assured to resolve  the issues on priority.
After interacting with the local people at Samote, the Minister also kick started the blacktopping of Samote-Targian road .
The Minister inaugurated the Administrative Block of Degree College Budhal besides inspecting the ongoing construction works of the college building.
Later, the Minister convened a public meeting at Budhal where a huge gathering of local inhabitants apprised him regarding various problems being faced by them like establishment of Tehsil Headquarter at Budhal, shortage of water supply, uninterrupted power supply, strengthening of  the interior link roads, old age and widow pensions, special recruitment camps for unemployed youths  and construction of Budhal -Shopian road.
Zulfkar reiterated that State Government has taken up several projects in all parts of the State for the socio economic development of the areas. In this regard, he directed the concerned officers to ensure effective implementation of all the welfare programes.
In his day long tour, the Minister also kick started tile work of Eidgah road at Budhal. The Minister directed PWD to ensure quality of work by adhering to standard specifications. He also directed officials to execute the work on fast track basis and complete the project within fixed timeline.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed  Bhat, Superintendent of Police Mohd Yousuf, Executive Engineer PWD  Saddeq Wani besides all other district officers accompanied the Minister.
