UDHAMPUR, Nov 7: JMIC Ramnagar, Renu Dogra has sentenced a driver to imprisonment for rash driving and causing accident.
The convict, namely Vijay Kumar, son of Hem Raj of Nimbla Kirmoo, tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, was involved in case FIR no 154/2013/Police Station Ramnagar, under Section 279/304-A RPC.
During trial, it was established that the accused was plying the vehicle, at the time of occurrence, in a rash and negligent manner.
He has been sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and imposed a fine of Rs 2000, for offence U/S 304-A RPC and two months imprisonment and fine of Rs 1000 for offence U/S 279 RPC.
In case of default in payment of fine, the convict shall further undergo simple imprisonment for two months.
