Minister, CCF harassing Forest employees: NGFOA

JAMMU, Nov 7: Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association (NGFOA) has strongly condemned the higher authorities in the State Forest Department for the unwanted harassment of staff from Jammu East and Chenab Circles.
In a meeting of the Association held here on Sunday under the leadership of Ravi Kumar, provincial president and senior vice president Gurcharan Singh, the members alleged that over Sidhra incident of October 17, 2016, some senior officers of Forest Department on behest of the Minister Lal Singh are harassing the Non-Gazetted staff. They alleged that eight employees have been suspended & has been initiated against 150 others who were not present there at Sidhara Rest House.
An FIR No. 199/ 2016 has been has been lodged against Association members by the CCF Jammu Roshan Jaggi and Forest Minister just for the harassment to the employees who raised genuine cause. They were implicated in false cases by influencing police. Even the Principal Sessions Judge Jammu while granting bail to the persons implicated in cases, mentioned in the report that ‘case appears to be politically motivated’ .
They alleged that the voice of the employees is being gagged by the Forest Minister and his blue eyed officers. They appealed all the Trade Union leaders from various departments and corporation to come out for the open support to them for their cause. They alleged that a group of Association members had gone to the official residence of the minister also to clarify their position and resolve the issue where the Forest Minister used abusive language against them. They sought the intervention of Chief Minister and Dy Chief Minister in this case.
