KATHUA/SAMBA, Nov 7: The Congress activists organised candle light processions at Kathua, Samba and Bishnah towns this evening to lodge their protest against the Government for its anti-people policies, situation in Kashmir and also along borders.
In Kathua town, former minister and senior PCC leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma and DCC president Subhash Gupta (Ex-MLC) were leading the candle light procession. While speaking on occasion at Shahidi Chowk Kathua, Dr Sharma strongly condemned the dictatorial attitude of Modi Government to suppress the voice of public and opposed his anti people, anti- Sainik and anti- farmer approach.
Dr Sharma said that Rahul Gandhi, keeping in view the seriousness and gravity of the problems being faced by the soldiers and farmers who are the real strength of nation, intervened and stood firmly with the soldiers and farmers such as in the case of suicide of Sub Ram Krishen Grewal who was struggling for the much publicized OROP since long but forced to take such extreme step of suicide and now to hush up the case the Modi government tortured, humiliated and accused the family of ex-serviceman in Police Station, when Rahul Gandhi objected to ill treatment to the Grewal family, he was arrested by the Delhi Police and kept in illegal confinement. He condemned this act of Modi Govt.
DCC leaders Naresh Sharma former president MC Kathua, Aradana Andotra, Nirdosh Sharma, Kulbir Singh Pathania and others also joined the march.
In Samba town also District Unit functionaries led by PCC chief GA Mir, Parkash Sharma Ex-MLA, Manjit Singh Ex-MLA, senior leaders Subash Bhagat, Vinod Mishra, Vinod Kumar, Arun Sharma and others also took out a candle light march this evening. A large number of Congress workers holding candles in their hands and carrying banners and party flags took out the march in Main Bazar to lodge their protest against the Govt. Mr Mir also addressed the party workers.
Similar protest march was taken out at Bishnah town by the Block Congress workers led by senior leaders MK Bhardwaj a leading lawyer and Ashwani Puri. The Congress activists carrying candles and party flags in their hands. Mr Bhardwaj also addressed the gathering and criticized State Government for its failure on all fronts.
