Six students injured in hit and run case

JAMMU, Nov 9: Six students of a private school in Shastri Nagar area of city outskirts were injured today in a hit and run case.
“Six students of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, were injured this afternoon in a hit and run case by a Maruti car bearing registration number JK02Q-3861 when they were walking along the road near the School after school hours”, a police spokesman said.
He said that the accused driver, whose identity was not known, managed to flee from the spot along with his vehicle, leaving the victims injured.
“The injured who were identified as Karan Bhardwaj son of Rajesh Kumar, Bhumi Mahajan (17) daughter of Rajiv Gupta, Khushi Mahajan (17) daughter of Krishan Kumar, Nandani Mahajan (17) daughter of Ashwani Gupta, all residents of Vijaypur (Samba), and Sabya Bali (17) daughter of Pankaj Bali and Simran daughter of Gharu Ram, both residents of Bari Brahmana, were shifted to Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, from where the seriously injured Bhumi, Khushi, Nandani and Sabya were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
The Gandhi Nagar police has registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
