The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are established in every district of the country. The Vidyalayas are co-educational and fully residential. The students and the staff reside in the campus round the clock. The residential part of the students in the hostel is headed by the house masters; house wise. Under norms of the Samiti the 2nd Saturday or 2nd Sunday is fixed as parent day, except emergency access. Despite repeated requests to the parents to visit their wards on 2nd Sunday of the month, they make frequent visits on every Sunday, holiday and even during late hours thereby, causing great inconvenience to the administration in maintaining discipline and congenial educational environment of a residential coeducation institution. I request the members of the PTC particularly from parents side to take this initiative to have meeting with the parents of the wards studying in these institutions to follow the norms of the organization in maintaining discipline and prestige of these Vidyalayas for the betterment and welfare of the students in general and the Vidyalayas in particular.
