SRINAGAR, Nov 11: J&K Bank today opened a new state-of-the-art Business Unit along with ATM at Zirakpur in Mohali district, which is popularly known as ‘wedding capital of Punjab’.
Minister for Finance and Planning, Punjab, Sardar Parminder Singh Dindsa, inaugurated the business unit in presence of Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmed. Executive President Vagish Chander, Zonal Head Mohali Romesh Vaid, Vice-Presidents Rajni Saraf and Mohammad Farooq Rather were also present on the occasion.
The function was attended by Chancellor Chandigarh University Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu, President Chandigarh Group of Colleges Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, leader Akali Dal Sardar Amrik Singh besides leading business men, senior citizens and impressive gathering of local residents.
Speaking on the occasion Finance Minister congratulated the bank on choosing a fine and wonderful location of the business unit in the heart of Zirakpur which is the fastest growing town not only in Punjab but three States of Haryana, Punjab and HP. He also appreciated that though J&K Bank being a private sector bank, is playing a role of public sector bank in the development of economy. He said the Punjab Government would be extending full support to the bank for expanding its foot prints in Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion Chairman informed that our first business unit in Punjab was opened in 1973 in the Holy City of Amritsar and today we have established 29th business unit and the future plan of the bank is to shortly open three more business units in the zone at Chandigarh University Campus Mohali, Patalia and Solan (HP).
Chairman assured that in line with the logo of the bank, which has a message of “serving to empower”, the bank will be glad to have suggestions from Punjab Government and assured to have localized approach to customize the products as per local needs. He further impressed upon the public to give the bank an opportunity to serve them and impressed upon them to bank with J&K Bank.
Zonal Head Romesh Vaid concluded the function with the vote of thanks. Notably, with this inauguration the total number of Bank’s business units reached 865 and 1051 ATMs.
