Pistachio falls on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Nov 12: Pistachio prices declined by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of negligible demand from retailers and stockists.
Besides, volume of business remained extremely restricted due to tight fund positions and adequate stocks also put pressure on pistachio prices.
Pistachio (hairati and peshawari) fell Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 1,200-1,310 and Rs 1,410-1,515 per kg, respectively.
Traders said negligible demand from retailers and stockists amid tight fund positions following the government scrapping high-denomination notes to curb black money, influenced trading.
Following are today’s quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 15,800-16,000, Almond(Gurbandi-new) Rs 12,000-12,200, Almond (Girdhi) Rs 5,400-5,600; Abjosh Afghani Rs 5,000-22,000.
