RAJOURI, Nov 12: Sleuths of Excise Department today conducted series of raids in Rajouri, Thanamandi, Nowshera, Sunderbani, Kalakot areas and arrested eight bootleggers.
During the course of raids, 300 kg Lahan as well as 35 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered and destroyed on the spot. Eight persons, namely Mohd Saleem of Thanamandi, Sanjay Kumar of Loorkote, Mukesh Sharma of Bhambla, Ravi Kumar of Narrian, Parshotam Lal of Thandikasi, Naresh Kumar of Ghambir and Kuldeep Kumar of Chingus were arrested for possessing illicit liquor.
The raids were conducted on the direction and overall supervision of T Angchuk, Excise Commissioner J&K.
