130 bags of flour seized as black-marketing of ration unearthed

JAMMU, Nov 12: Police today seized 130 bags of Government CAPD flour which was supposed to be distributed to the general public of far flung areas of Tehsil Latti and the villagers of Cheri Sail in Udhampur district on Government subsidised rates.
“All the accused involved in this illegal nexus,’’ police added. They said on tip off, a case was registered of black-marketing of Government CAPD Ration meant for distribution among the general public of the far flung areas of Tehsil Latti and the villagers of Cheri Sail, Udhampur.
It was reported that the  availability of some bags of Govt CAPD flour in Mahajan Flour Mill, Battal Ballian, Udhampur.
A  Special Investigation Team was constituted and a hunt was launched to apprehend all the culprits including Government Officials involved in this illegal nexus.
During the course of investigation, the Police teams conducted raids in Mahajan Flour Mill, Battal Ballian, Udhampur and all other suspected places of Udhampur and Latti and arrested number of suspects involved in this case.
During the questioning of these suspects, it came to light that about 130 bags of CAPD flour, which were meant to be supplied to the villagers of far flung areas of Tehsil Latti and Cheri Sail, Udhampur on subsidised rates, were illegally sold to one Anil Gupta of Ward No. 15, Shakti Nagar Udhampur, owner of Mahajan Floor Mill by two drivers in connivance with the store keeper of Latti and dealer of Cheri Sial, Udhampur.
All 130 bags of the Govt CAPD flour was seized on the spot, police added.
