JAMMU, Nov 13: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, today kick started upgradation of various lanes and drains in Sector 8 of Nanak Nagar.
The construction work of lanes and drains will be executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation with an estimated cost of Rs.4.50 lakh.
He was accompanied by the officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
While speaking on the occasion, the Speaker directed the concerned officers to complete the works in a time bound manner besides maintaining the highest quality.
The people of the area putforth various demands and problems related to power and water supply, adequate ration supply, regular repair and maintenance of roads.
Kavinder Gupta assured the people that their issues would be redressed on priority basis.
Later, Kavinder visited ‘Bawe Wali Mata’ and fort complex to take stock of various ongoing works there.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that it is the endeavour of the Government to ensure that the monuments of great heritage importance are developed and beautified to give an aesthetic look to the spot to help attract more tourists to the City of Temples.
