GMEWA discusses demands

JAMMU, Nov 13: The representatives of All J&K Geology and Mining Employees Welfare Association (GMEWA) under the leadership of Bharat Bhushan, president of the association, met today to discuss their demands.
The association members stressed on the Government to implement the orders of the High Court vide SWP No 3058/2015 and Contempt No 25/2016 regarding removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre, in letter and spirit.
Other demands that were discussed in the meeting include DPC in all departments after every six months and reorganization of the clerical cadre outside the civil secretariat, implementation of 7th Pay Commission in the State, increase of medical allowance from Rs 300 per month to Rs 2000 per month, dislocation allowance to all the officials posted outside their home district and regularization of daily wagers, adhoc and contractual employees.
The association also decided to support the pen down strike on November 16 and 17, the call of which has been given by Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association.
