RAJOURI, Nov 13: A 23-year-old youth hailing from Kokernagar in Kashmir, died under mysterious circumstances here this evening.
Police sources said that Aijaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammed, resident of Kokernag was working as driver at a stone crusher near Darhali Morh, Rajouri for the last several months. His colleagues brought his dead body to hospital late this evening, telling that he had drowned in the canal in the area. The police sent the body to the mortuary of the hospital and said that postmortem will be conducted tomorrow.
The police said that it was suspicious death case and inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been launched. The police also said that family of the deceased has been intimated and postmortem will be performed after they arrive here from Kashmir.
