2 Security personnel among 3 injured in Pak shelling on LoC in Rajouri

JAMMU: An Army jawan and a BSF personnel were among three people, who today got injured as Pakistan shelled forward villages and posts along the Line of Control in twin sectors of Rajouri district.

The Army, however, retaliated effectively to the cross border firing. ”Constable Laltu Singh of 126 Battallion was injured at Sunderbani sector, while Sepoy Kala Singh of 8 Sikh Li was hurt in firing at Kalsian area of Nowsherra Sector  as Pakistan resorted to heavy unprovoked firing,” official sources here said.

”One Shanti Devi (55) of village Khamba, Bhawani sustained splinter injuries of mortar, while two houses were damaged and one buffalo died in Makri Villge at Nowshera sector,” they added. The injured have been rushed to the hospital.
Pakistan this morning resorted to heavy unprovoked firing in Kalsian, Jhangar and Namb Karali areas of Nowshera sector, police sources here said. A Defence Spokesman said that Pakistan fired automatics and mortars in Nowshera sector. ”Own troops gave a befitting reply and firing was in progress,” he added.

Later in the afternoon at around 1410 hrs, Pakistan fired unprovoked in Sunderbani Sector using 120 mm Mortars, automatics and small arms ”Fire is being responded to befittingly by own troops,” the Spokesman added. (AGENCIES)
