KVM’s concern over encroachments, garbage disposal within MC limits

KATHUA, Nov 19: The members of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) have expressed serious concern over the encroachments of pathways and streets within the jurisdiction of Municipal Council (MC) Kathua.
In a periodic meeting of the Manch held here today, the members also drew the attention of the concerned authorities towards the construction being raised along the boundary wall of Government Middle School (Proper), Ward No 4, Kathua.
The members of the Manch demanded an enquiry over the installation of pre-fabricated toilet units near water pumping station Sheedhi Chowk Kathua and the other one near Jarai Chowk which have not been made functional for public use even after the lapse of more than five years.
They exhorted upon the authorities for ensuring proper disposal of garbage and device new options instead of burning it within MC limits. They also reiterated the demand of early establishment of Maternity and Child Care Hospital Kathua and commissioning of Passenger Shed already constructed opposite to Verinder Karyana Store, College Road, Kathua.
The meeting chaired by Prof Ram Murti Sharma, president of the Manch was attended by Prof Saroop Chander, Pitamber Dutt Sharma, Babu Ram Bhagat, Daya Nand Sharma, Mulkh Raj Sharma, Thoru Ram Mahajan, Rajeev Mahajan, Khem Raj Sharma, Mohinder Gupta, Amar Nath Balotra and others.
