IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu celebrates 31st Foundation Day

JAMMU, Nov 19: To commemorate the 31st Foundation Day of IGNOU, Regional Centre Jammu organized Foundation Week, which concluded today.
Various activities, related to student support services, training of Academic Counsellors and Observers, online admission, exhibition of study material, etc were carried out throughout the week at the Regional Centre Jammu. On the concluding day, Coordinators and Programme Incharges of local City Centres were invited and provided training related to issues of newly introduced online admission and re-registration.
On first two days of the Foundation week, Regional Centre Jammu organized Students’ Grievances Redressal Camp under the guidance of Assistant Regional Directors. Learners of January 2016 and July 2016 session were informed through SMS alerts to come forward with their queries/grievances for immediate redressal. Hundreds of learners turned up whose queries/grievances were settled on-the-spot.
On third day, the Observers deputed during Term-end Examinations of IGNOU, were invited for a training programme organized at the Regional Centre Jammu in which various issues related to conduct of smooth and fair examinations were discussed.
On fourth day,  training of empanelled Academic Counsellors under Regional Centre Jammu, was organized in which Academic Counsellors associated with local City Centres were invited and provided training related to evaluation and counselling.
Regional Centre Jammu is also contributing to Government of India’s “Unnat Bharat” programme by adopting six villages in Jammu.
