JAMMU, Nov 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has hit back at the BJP over its attempts to target Congress party by mischievous interpretation and distortion over the statement of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and asked the party to stop teaching lessons of nationalism to Congress party and its leaders, who struggled and sacrificed for the freedom of the country and to safe guard its unity and integrity.
Reacting strongly to the BJP’s assertions in this regard, the Congress questioned BJP to identify its role in the freedom struggle and thereafter, when the Congress Party and its cadre fought the battle for the freedom of the country in which thousands of its leaders and activists underwent untold sufferings and sacrifices to attain freedom and it continued its legacy of the sacrifices, as the party lost two former Prime Ministers and a Chief Minister for safeguarding the freedom and unity and integrity of the country.
“It is vain attempt of BJP to distort and divert the attention of the people from the failures of Modi Govt and real issue of grave sufferings being faced by the people across the country by demonetisation without adequate preparations and arrangements,” said a resolution adopted by PCC Executive in a meeting here today under the chairmanship of PCC president GA Mir this afternoon.
The party lashed out at the BJP and Modi Govt for giving lessons on patriotism to Congress Party and its leaders with a view to hide behind nationalism, to escape for its failures on all fronts. The BJP’s diversionary tactics won’t work anymore especially attempts to claim themselves to be ultra-nationalists, while painting any one as antinational, who dare to criticize the policies of the Modi Govt and its failures.
The PCC leaders maintained that Congress party and its leaders and citizen of this country need no certificate of nationalism from BJP and its leaders who are the ideological descendents of the non-participants in the freedom struggle and are pursuing an agenda to divide the pluralistic Indian society, which has the tendency to destroy and disturb the fragile social & secular fabric of this nation.
The meeting was attended by all senior leaders including Sham Lal Sharma, Tara Chand, Rigzin Jora, Taj Mohi-ud-din, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Haji Rashid, GM Saroori, Raman Bhalla, Jahangir Mir, Ravinder Sharma, Ch Mohd Akram, Balwan Singh, Yogesh Sawhney, Faqir Nath, Ch Shah Nawaz, Indu Pawar, BS Sambyal, Anil Chopra, Shiv Dev Singh, GL Chalotra, KC Bhagat, Ashok Dogra, Zahida Khan besides other senior members of PCC executive.
